Dairy products will rise in price by 15% – Alexander Nikitin

Alexander Niktin also noted that in the spring of 2020, Alantal announced its intention to increase prices for dairy products by 10%, since the marginality of the company's goods did not cover its expenses.

‘Dairy products are really getting more expensive. Moreover, the enterprise Aantal planned price increase in spring 2020: our pricing policy, which was in the beginning of this year, did not suit the company, since the margins on our products did not cover our real costs and under the conditions of existing margin at the time, the company could not develop further. Therefore, we announced in the spring that we intend to increase prices for dairy products by 10%. However, due to a number of circumstances, this price increase was postponed to the autumn of 2020, however, even this increase did not solve all our problems, since during this time the prices of raw materials have increased significantly. Therefore, a 10% increase in the cost of dairy products is not enough. I believe that the real price increase will be about 15%. This is due to the fact that our currency is not getting more expensive and a large amount of ingredients are imported,’ said a member of the Board of Directors of Alantal.

Earlier, The DairyNews reported that according to the first Deputy General Director of EkoNiva holding Sergey Lyashko, the cost of milk in 2021 may increase by 10%.
