Dankvert about the claims of Minsk: I trusted the Belarusian producers too much

On February 3 Lukashenko proposed to initiate a criminal case against Dankvert for preventing supply of Belarusian foodstuffs to the Russian Federation. In a few days the Ministry of internal affairs of Belarus stated that it is carrying out a number of pre-investigation inspections against the officials of the Rosselkhoznadzor. "If the Prosecutor's office will look into the matter impartially, the only claim that may be presented to me is that I closed few Belarusian enterprises and trusted a lot the Belarusian side. Because there were much more violations revealed," - said Dankvert in an interview with the newspaper "Izvestia".

In a press-service of the Kremlin earlier they expressed bewilderment in connection with the statement Lukashenko. In Rosselkhoznadzor they also said that there is no reason for concern and they are confident in the legality of their decisions regarding the supply of agricultural products from Belarus. Since February 6 the Rosselkhoznadzor has introduced temporary restrictions on the supply of beef and beef by-products from the enterprises of Minsk region, suspecting them of re-export from Ukraine.

Earlier, the office imposed temporary restrictions and additional requirements for the supply from four meat processing plants of Belarus because of rough violations of the veterinary legislation. The office considered it appropriate to impose temporary restrictions in respect of JSC "Zhlobinskiy meat-processing plant" and the regime of enhanced laboratory control in respect of JSC "Dubravskiy broiler", JSC "Smolevichi broiler", JSC "Stolbtsy meat-processing plant".
