Danone and PepsiCo received revenue of more than 100 billion rubles in 2020

‘Danone and PepsiCo are among the ten most dynamic companies, the percentage growth of which on their scale looks quite modest – 3% and 1%, respectively, although for turnover of 100-120 billion rubles, such growth is also a great achievement,’ the speaker commented on the rating. ‘Danone strategically focuses on more complex and high-margin products, strengthening the positions of its brands in the modern dairy categories, as well as optimizing production capacities.’

According to the head, the top ten leaders include dynamically developing companies, including manufacturers of whole-milk products and cheeses. Over the past five years, they have shown revenue growth of more than 10% per year. Among them - GC Renna - 13%, GC Molvest - 11%, KOMOS Group (Milcom) - 16%, GC Yugovskoy dairy products plant - 20%, GC Neva Milk -16%.

‘GC Renna, GC Molvest, KOMOS Group (Milcom) again took the 3rd, 4th and 5th places in the new top-30 rating of 2020, respectively, with a total turnover of 88.2 billion rubles,’ the expert summed up. ‘I specifically calculated that they do not reach the first two of Danone and PepsiCo. However, they are growing actively and we hope that a third company will appear in Russia, which will have an annual revenue turnover of more than 100 billion rubles.

Earlier, Dairy Intelligence Agency presented a rating of the top 100 largest milk processors. In 2020, Russian enterprises processed 20.3 million tons of raw milk, which is 2% more than in 2019 and 27.7% more than in 2013. The key factor of dynamics in the processing market is demand, but the state has a serious influence as the initiator of various mechanisms of control over business and as a source of financing and support for selected players.
