Danone Group, Wimm-Bill-Dann, GC Renna, GC Molvest and KOMOS GROUP - leaders in milk processing
As noted by CEO of Soyuzmoloko Artem Belov, all these companies have a wide product line and a portfolio of strong brands that allows them to lead the industry for many years.
- If we look at the dynamics within the top five in terms of revenue, KOMOS GROUP and Renna are among the leaders in terms of production growth. Within five years, the companies have almost doubled in size. And if, for example, KOMOS GROUP used to be in the top 10, today it has confidently entered the top 5, - the expert noted. - It is noteworthy that among the enterprises that showed the highest growth rates were mainly Russian companies. They are Ak Bars, Neva Milk, Foodland, Yugovskoy, Irbitsky dairy plant and Renna.
Artem Belov also noted that the growth rate of the leader in this indicator, JSC ZMK (JSC Holding company Ak Bars) is 224%. Such results were achieved due to the situation on the market of milk processing in Tatarstan.
- The Republic has traditionally been a leader in the production of raw milk, but the situation in processing was not very good, especially after the bankruptcy of Vamina and the sale of assets of Prosto Moloko. And here we see how JSC ZMK (JSC Holding company Ak Bars) managed to take advantage of the situation and become a leader in Russia and a champion for growth over five years in the sector, explained Artem Belov.
Ehrmann became the most dynamically developing foreign company. Artem Belov associates its results, first, with the effective launch of a new product under the Epica brand, which really enjoy well-deserved popularity. Marketing success has allowed the company to grow by almost 70% in five years. In addition, the expert added, Hohland developed intensively.
- In general, if we talk about the overall growth rate, 13 of the 30 companies in the rating grew 1.5 or more times. We see that the market continues to consolidate. The 30 largest companies account for about 51-52% of the market. Revenue of the largest companies increased from 416 billion rubles to 561 billion rubles. We can state that taking into account the investment plans of the leaders, the market will continue to consolidate, - concluded Artem Belov.
According to his forecasts, EkoNiva will also be included in the rating in the near future.
- After the modernization of a number of factories in the central part of Russia, the launch of a cheese-making enterprise in Novosibirsk the company will soon break into the list of leaders and take its rightful place here, - concluded Artem Belov.
