Danone: neither the dairy industry nor the consumer will benefit from labeling
"Neither the industry, nor the market, nor the consumer will get anything useful. Having spent billions, we will fight a problem that does not exist", said Maria Zharkova.
According to her, the costs for the dairy industry for the introduction of labeling will amount to more than 60 billion rubles.
"The introduction of labeling to protect consumers from falsified products cannot be considered appropriate and effective, since the share of these products in the dairy market is not more than 0.01%", said Zharkova.
As it became known to The DairyNews, a collective letter from industry unions on the impact of labeling is currently being prepared to the Government of the Russian Federation, which will be signed in the near future.
