DIA Dairy Index has risen to 25.95 (about 0.37 euros)/kg
According to the application Index DIA the weighted average price of milk in Russia last week decreased by 0.12% to 24.63 rubles (about 0.35 euros)/kg, which is 15.5% higher than the price in September in 2018. Prices for raw milk went down in Altai, Kaluga and Bryansk regions. The rise in prices for raw milk was observed in Voronezh and Moscow regions.

The import price index increased by 0.67% compared to last week to 29.83 rubles (about 0.42 euros)/kg, compared to September 2018, the growth of the index was 1.26%. At the auction of BUCE prices for skim milk powder and butter decreased, the price of skim milk powder decreased by 0.56% to 160 rubles (about 2.26 euros)/kg, the price of butter decreased by 0.35% to 375.10 rubles (about 5.31 euros)/kg. The increase in the import price was caused by the increase in the prices of exchange-traded dairy products at the Trigona Dairy Trade. At the Dutch exchange last week, prices rose for all key dairy products. The price of butter taking into consideration the strengthening of the ruble decreased by 0.05% to 258.6 rubles (about 3.66 euros)/kg, the price of cheddar grew by 1.85% to 222.7 rubles (about 3.15 euros)/kg, the price of skim milk powder increased by 0.8% to 161.6 rubles (about 2.29 euros)/kg. The price of whey powder increased by 0.2% to 43.8 rubles (about 0.62 euros)/kg.
The import price of a pair of skim milk powder + butter increased by 0.1% to 35.23 rubles (about 0.50 euros)/ kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey decreased by 1.3% to 24.53 rubles (about 0.35 euros)/kg. The price of whole milk powder remained at the level of 22.95 rubles (about 0.32 euros)/kg.

Dairy Index DIA
Dairy Index DIA is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index DIA, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
