DIA in cooperation with DeLaval has launched a dairy "heat map" of Russia
The "heat map" uses color to indicate the distribution of dairy cows in Russian regions. The map shows that the main part of the Russian dairy herd is located in the Western and southern regions of the country.
The "heat layer" of the DIA Milk map allows us to estimate the distribution of dairy livestock not only on a national scale, but also in a regional context.
‘The heat map is another DIA tool that clearly represents the dairy industry of the Russian Federation, allowing us to assess the prospects for the development of dairy farming in Russian regions. For the "heat map", we selected a key indicator - the number of cows of all dairy farms represented on the map. This allowed us to present in color the key areas of development of dairy farming in the Russian Federation, - said Mikhail Mishchenko, Director of the Dairy Intelligence Agency. - We are already preparing to launch new tools on the Milk map that will allow us to assess the development of the Russian dairy market and regions in all key indicators. We are very happy that DeLaval, our long - standing reliable partner, has become a partner of the Heat Map.’
“We responded to the proposal of the Dairy Intelligence Agency to make such a tool together with great enthusiasm. DeLaval pays great attention to the sustainable development of the dairy industry. This tool makes us pay attention to the environmental aspect of the development of our industry. The Heat map allows us to see potential stress points and work in two directions: 1) if possible, take this aspect into account when planning new farms, 2) work on the efficiency of farms, strive to increase yields not only due to the growth of livestock, because it is the size of the herd that affects CO2 and methane emissions.
We also look forward to further partnership with DIA in the direction of automation of information collection and processing, as we understand that modern information analysis tools allow our clients and partners to be as successful as possible in their business. Modern high-tech analysis tools are a reality in the creation of which we participate and are happy to offer our solutions to the market - said Mikhail Kamyshny, General Director of JSC DeLaval.
The Dairy Intelligence Agency continues to develop new tools for analyzing the dairy market.
