According to Dmitry Krasnov, Head of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Agroexport, during the meeting of the Commission of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs "Export of products of the Russian agro-industrial complex: current state and prospects for further growth", last year the export of dairy products reached $318 million, reports The DairyNews.
Among the main prospects for export development, Krasnov highlighted the markets of China, Nigeria, Algeria and other countries.
‘The main issue is the need for investment. The prospects that we see in the far abroad are mainly associated not with finished dairy products, but with powdered ones - for example, whey powder. The issue of development and investment remains topical, and the state has done much to encourage this development. We see prospects for Nigeria and Algeria, despite the great French influence in these markets. And the number one in this issue is China,’ Dmitry Krasnov said. The expert added that the export of Russian dairy products in the current year also has growth prospects.
