Dmitry Matveev: Manufacturers can shift the costs of labeling to consumers for whom it was started
‘As I have repeatedly said, the introduction of the CATD is accompanied by considerable expenses, and so far we do not see any effect from the introduction of this measure. Enterprises have to change production processes, invest in equipment. And there is no understanding how quickly it will pay off and whether it will pay off at all,’ Dmitry Matveev explained.
The President of the Group of companies Kabosh added that large enterprises in the industry had no choice but to fulfill these mandatory requirements, but they also had more financial opportunities. At the same time, even with the available resources in the preparation process, it was not without difficulties.
‘The most unpleasant and paradoxical thing is that the manufacturer can eventually shift these considerable costs to the consumer in order to maintain at least some profitability, the consumer for whom all this was started and for whom we are working,’ Dmitry Matveev summed up.
