A member of the faction Spravedlivaya Rossiya Oleg Nilov prepared the draft law aimed at national food producers’ protection. The draft may oblige retailers to put on their shelves not less than 50% of domestically produced products in each group of products. The document will be amended according to consumers’ needs; special attention will be paid to the products not produced in Russia. The draft law at the same time makes changes to the Russian Tax Code and establishes lower VAT rate at 10% for realization of products manufactured in Russia. The law will force retailers to consider Russian producers, believes the deputy. It will advance the process of import substitution as well.
