Dvorkovich reported about Belorussia’s unfair competition on dairy market
Russia may take measures to protect its dairy market from unfair competition on the part of Belorussia. This was said by Arkady Dvorkovich, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, at V Souzmoloko Congress. Protective measures may have direct nature or be taken towards other areas of cooperation.
Earlier Rospotrebnadzor submitted claims regarding Belorussian dairy products quality. This country is one of the main milk suppliers to Russia.
Meanwhile Belarus rejects claims relating to unfair competition on the Russian dairy market. Separate claims regarding products quality may not be estimated as unfair competition. It is necessary to evaluate the whole market situation. This was said by Deputy Head of Department for Foreign Economic Activity of Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry Tamara Usachyova. She also said that if there are claims regarding competition, probably they come from the Russian side.
She gave an example: if butter is produced on the territory of Russia and contains vegetable fat alongside with Belorussian raw materials – the problem should be solved with Russian producers.
