Ehrmann will buy Russian subsidiary FrieslandCampina
According to the source, the transaction will allow Ehrmann to acquire 100% of LLC Campina, as well as all liabilities and assets of the company.
According to the document, the production site in Moscow region (Stupino), the popular brands Fruttis and Nezhny, as well as 650 employees will be developed under the management of Ehrmann.
‘This transaction is part of the previously announced strategy of FrieslandCampina to review its positions in various markets. Under the auspices of Ehrmann, our Russian dairy business will be able to develop and fully realize its growth potential,’ said Ruhl van Neerbos, President of the Food and Beverage division of FrieslandCampina.
According to the source, the transaction is expected to close at the end of June 2021.
In 1992, FrieslandCampina appeared in Russia and became the first supplier of yoghurts on the Russian market.
Today, FrieslandCampina is one of the leading national producers and suppliers of yogurt.
Campina entered the Russian market with the high-quality fruit yogurt Fruttis, produced in Heilbronn (Germany), creating a new product category on the market. Fruttis became the number one brand among yoghurts before the economic crisis of 1998. Now Fruttis is still one of the leading brands.
