Ekaterina Zakharova: TOP 4 exporting countries have increased milk production by 1.5%

In January-July 2018, the four largest exporters of dairy products in the world, the US, EU-28, New Zealand and Australia increased milk production by 1.5% compared to the same period last year up to 166 million tons, reports The DairyNews from the International dairy business forum in Sochi.
The most significant growth was demonstrated by the EU-28 + 1.95%. The EU countries are actively increasing milk production, seeking to increase exports to the world market. At the same time, the drought that affected Europe can reduce the projected production volumes in 2018, stressed Ekaterina Zakharova.
According to the expert, the US increased production in the first 7 months of this year by 1.07%, Australia by 1.7%, New Zealand reduced milk production in relation to the corresponding period last year by 0.6%.
It is worth reminding that according to experts of USDEC the world market today can withstand only 1.5% growth in milk production of the largest exporters of milk.
