EkoNiva and Agrocomplex named after Tkachev are recognized as leaders in the production of raw milk
As noted by CEO of Soyuzmoloko Artem Belov, commenting on the rating, there is a trend towards consolidation in the raw material production sector, as well as in processing. Over the past three years, the share of 30 leading companies in the volume of milk production in Russia has grown fr om 11 to 14%, i.e. by three percentage points.
- EkoNiva, Agropromkomplektatsiya and Molvest were the leaders in terms of growth in raw materials. EkoNiva has grown more than 2.5 times during this time, Agropromkomplektatsiya and Molvest - 1.5 times. These companies continue to actively develop the raw material base to ensure their own processing in order to guarantee the quality, safety and availability of raw materials in the long term, - said Artem Belov on the official Facebook page.
The expert was surprised by the performance of the agricultural holding Step’, which not only became one of the leaders in terms of growth rates, showing an increase of more than 1.5 times over the past three years, but also became the leader in productivity: the milk yield per 1 cow was more than 12 tons per year.
- Only six companies were able to provide productivity of 10 thousand or more tons, - said Belov. – We are talking about such enterprises as Step’, Trudovoy, Prodprogramma, Zalesye, Voshchazhnikovo and Intercros.
The largest player, as noted by Artem Belov, is EkoNiva, and the expert focused on it.
- The holding is the absolute industry leader in Russia and currently operates in more than 10 regions. In physical terms, the company's share is 3.4%. This scares some people, but if we look at the American market, the industry leader is the DFA cooperative, which produces more than 20% of US milk. In China, several companies have production of more than 1 million tons, and EkoNiva has so far exceeded the lim it of 700 thousand tons. In Saudi Arabia, Almarai holding occupies more than 50% of the market. Moreover, from the point of view of development potential, the phenomenon of EkoNiva is not unique. Rather, we see the implementation of a common business model for replicating modern milk production technologies in different regions of Russia, - concluded Artem Belov.
