"Certification is suspended"- this status was received today by enterprises that did not export products to Russia within 18-36 months, informs The DairyNews citing the official website of the Rosselkhoznadzor.
30 months ago, the presidential decree "On application of certain special economic measures to ensure security of the Russian Federation" came into force in Russia. According to this document, our country has limited food imports from countries that have imposed sanctions against it. "Food embargo" has come.
A year later, the President signed a decree "On approval of Rules of destruction of agricultural products, raw materials and food included in the list of agricultural products, raw materials and food, which origin country are the USA, countries of European Union, Canada, Australia and Norway, which until August 5, 2016 (inclusive) are prohibited for import to the Russian Federation". The "Holy Inquisition" started.
On February 3, 2017 the Rosselkhoznadzor reported about the introduction of the status "Suspended due to the lack of export" for countries that have not exported within 18-36 months. The official website says: "In connection with absence of supply of controlled goods (products) on the territory of the Russian Federation within 18-36 months, there will be introduced the status "Suspended due to the lack of exports" in the Register of enterprises of third countries. Today, these countries received the status of "Suspended certification".
To resume supplies to Russia, countries need to pass inspection "of the enterprise by the competent in the field of veterinary supervision authority of a third country and analysis of inspection report provided to the Rosselkhoznadzor", reads the official website of the authority.
Suppose today the food embargo will be lifted; 32 countries, which have the status "Suspended certification», will ask for the vet with the inspection which seems to be a simple procedure. However, from a practical point of view the process of “asking for a vet – his arrival" takes from six months to several years. After the audit the company will have to wait about a year to learn the result: "approved" or "not approved" for export. But if 32 countries will ask for the vet with the audit at once...
It turns out that even if the food embargo is cancelled now, countries will need years to resume exports to Russia. The embargo for ages...
