Embargo is not forever – it’s not time to relax

It is important to use the embargo as a chance to start producing competitive products in respect of quality and cost price.
This was said in an interview to The DairyNews by the State Duma Committee on Agriculture Member Arkady Ponomaryov.
The official believes that the food embargo worked in dairy sector’s favor. Some foreign companies left the market, local producers changed them. An intensive revival of almost lost cheese making and drying sectors was launched, he said. “It must be understood that the embargo will not last forever, - stressed Mr. Ponomaryov. – It is important to use this chance, to produce effectively competitive products in respect of quality and cost price. We can’t relax”.
