Export volume of Moscow ice cream increased by 35% in five months
"In the first five months of this year, 5.34 thousand tons of ice cream were exported to other countries. The key consumers of ice cream from the capital's companies are Kazakhstan, the USA and China. Since May 2020, Moscow manufacturers have new markets - Georgia, Mongolia, Israel and Latvia", - quotes the press service of Vice mayor of Moscow Vladimir Efimov.
The report clarifies that at the end of last year, Russia rose in the world list of exporters by 5 positions and took the 16th place. The leaders in the export of ice cream are countries such as France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy. According to the press service, the total Russian export of ice cream for the first five months of 2020 amounted to $23.94 million, which is 11% higher than in the same period in 2019. In real terms, the volume of ice cream exports increased up to 11.18 thousand tons.
"In the total Russian export of ice cream for the five months of 2020, the share of Moscow was 53.3%, which is 9.3% more compared to the same period last year. Foreign consumers prefer products with a high percentage of fat content - more than 7%, such products in January - May 2020 accounted for more than 50% of all exports of Moscow ice cream", the press service quotes Head of the Department Alexander Prokhorov.
