FAO dairy price index increased slightly in November
The value of the index was 16.8 points (9.5 %) above the level of the corresponding period last year.
According to FAO analysts, in November, the most active growth was demonstrated by international quotations for skimmed and whole milk powder due to limited supply associated with a seasonal decline in production in Europe against the background of active international import demand. After a two-month decline, the price of butter rose slightly under the influence of generally strong demand, despite the presence of sufficient export stocks. The decline in cheese prices continues for the third month in a row, as supply slightly exceeds demand.
Just to remind, on December 2, 2019 Dairy Index DIA amounted to 26.51 rubles/kg (excluding VAT, fat-3.6%, protein-3.0%), which is 0.15% higher than at the beginning of last week and 8% higher than at the beginning of December 2018. The index increased due to the rise in prices for raw milk in Russian regions according to the INDEX DIA application.
