Farmers in Sverdlovsk region persuade processors to collect milk

As it was explained by farmers to The DairyNews, in Talitsa district three peasant farm holdings produce about 8 tons of raw milk; it is extremely difficult to find a buyer for half of this amount. Farmers told about the extremely difficult problem of sales and stressed that each time they have to "persuade dairy plants to take at least one supply".

At the same time, as it became known to The Dairy News, similar problems are experienced by large farms in the region. Thus, on March 12, one of the farms of Arty district in Sverdlovsk region poured 17 tons of milk due to the fact that they could not sell this amount.

The head of the peasant farm holding Maxim Glazyrin in the comments to The DairyNews stressed that half of the amount from the enterprise is bought by the company LLC "Talitskie dairy farms". Purchases are under the agreement. However, two times in March, "Talitskie dairy farms" bought milk of the peasant farm holding beyond the plan, which really helped the enterprise.

The farmer noted that the peasant farm holding faced the problem in late February, at the same time appeal to Tyumen and Kurgan enterprises did not help - they all refused to purchase the milk.

Earlier, the Russian Dairy Research Center (RDRC) reported that the average price of milk in Sverdlovsk region continues to decline. According the crowdsourcing application Index RDRC, the average price of raw milk in Sverdlovsk region on March 19, amounted to 20.35 rubles/kg (excluding VAT, fat and protein content 3.6% and 3.0% respectively), 0.05% below the level of last week.

It’s worth noting that according to the Ministry of agriculture of Russia, in the middle of March 2018, the average price of raw milk of agricultural producers of the Russian Federation decreased by 7.4% in comparison with the same period last year.
