FAS will get access to the monitoring system for goods subject to mandatory labeling
Under the agreement, the Antimonopoly service will be granted access to information contained in the state information system for monitoring the turnover of goods subject to mandatory labeling. ‘This will allow the agency to analyze the state of competition in commodity markets, where goods are already labeled on a mandatory basis,’ specified in the FAS.
‘For the FAS of Russia, this is a step towards conducting market research in digital form, without additional burden on economic entities. We expect that the data contained in the system will improve the efficiency and accuracy of our forecasts, as well as more effectively monitor compliance with antimonopoly legislation,’ said Alexey Dotsenko, Deputy Head of the FAS of Russia.
The FAS noted that thanks to this system, the service will be able to receive data on labeled goods in electronic form, since the system tracks the movement of goods along the entire commodity distribution chain - from the manufacturer to the final consumer. In addition, the FAS will be able to monitor the conclusion of anti-competitive agreements and price manipulation in the markets of circulation of goods subject to mandatory labeling.
‘The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, together with the operator CATD, ensure the integration of the state information system for monitoring the circulation of goods subject to mandatory labeling with the FAS system of Russia. This will make it possible to perform more effectively the entire range of tasks in the field of product labeling, and will facilitate the control of compliance with antimonopoly legislation in the interests of ordinary consumers and buyers,’ said Viktor Yevtukhov, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.Цитаты дня
