Finished dairy products veterinary certification has no sense

Finished dairy products veterinary certification has no sense. This is a shared opinion of Russian dairy market participants, questioned by The DairyNews.
Starting from 1 March 2015 an electronic veterinary certification (including finished dairy products) will be launched in Russia according to the order №281, which is already approved by the Ministry of Agriculture. In general dairy market participants are open to the idea of free vetcertification, but the current version of the order, according to their opinion, was prepared as a tool of keeping the business under control. At the moment it is planned to make the certification obligatory, paid and not electronic.
The majority of questioned by The DairyNews market representatives refused to give public commentaries being afraid to upset relations with the veterinary service. Unofficially they admitted that the main issue bothering them in the current version of the order – is the certification of finished dairy products. “Electronic veterinary certification of finished products – is an absurd. Today the government looks at the business as at an object that it can accuse and punish. That’s why any inspector coming to an enterprise a priori decides there is administrative violation”, - said a representative of a regional milk processing company.
