Finished dairy products will be excluded from "Mercury"

Manturov noted that there will be a combination of two systems.

"Raw materials come under the system "Mercury", that is, under the system of electronic veterinary certification, and our labeling will be applied to the finished products", — said the Minister.

In his opinion, according to the order of the Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Gordeev supervising the agro-industrial complex, changes will be prepared "in the orders of the Ministry of agriculture to exclude certain types of products from the “Mercury” system".

A source familiar with the discussion of this decision said that the issue was discussed at a meeting with Gordeev on May 29. The exclusion of finished dairy products from the “Mercury” system was supported by the Ministry of industry and trade and the Rospotrebnadzor. According to the source, instead, the products will be marked by a system operated by the Center for development of advanced technology (CDAT), whose founders are “Rostech”, USM Holdings and “Elvis-Plus group”.

"The meeting with Gordeev took place the day after the meeting with Kozak. It was attended by most of the product unions — fish union, meat union, dairy union, — representatives of the Ministry of industry and trade, the Rospotrebnadzor and business representatives. The Ministry and the Rospotrebnadzor supported the proposal to switch to the certification system from the CDAT, reported the source.

The obligatory electronic veterinary certification will be introduced in Russia since July 1, 2018.
