For 9 months "EkoNiva" has increased milk production by 57% to 550 thousand tons
Moreover, this figure exceeds the volume of production achieved for the whole of 2018 (484 thousand tons), emphasizes the press release.
This year, the total herd grew by 32% to 176 thousand animals, while the number of dairy cows reached almost 89 thousand, an increase of 41% since the beginning of the year. Due to the growth of livestock, daily milk yield rose to almost 2,200 tons against 1,650 tons a year earlier. Daily milk yield per cow increased from 28.38 kg to 28.75 kg.
The company also reported that this year 9 modern dairy complexes for 28.4 thousand dairy cows were put in operation. By the end of the year, it is planned to put into operation three more complexes for about 11.6 thousand heads. It is expected that by the end of the year the herd of dairy cows will grow to 100 thousand heads, milk production will increase to almost 800 thousand tons. According to the press release, the area of farmland increased from 504 thousand hectares at the beginning of the year to 594 thousand hectares on September 30, 2019 (an increase of 18%), of which 310 thousand hectares are owned by the company.
The company stresses that it will continue to expand production in 2020 if investment conditions remain positive.
Currently, six modern dairy complexes for 20 thousand dairy cows are under construction. They are planned to be put into operation next year. By the end of 2020, the herd of dairy cows may increase to 120-130 thousand heads, milk production - up to 1-1. 2 million tons.
