G20 ministers discussed issues of global sustainability of food systems

According to him, the Russian agro-industrial complex demonstrates stability and steady growth. Constant priorities for the state are ensuring food independence, quality control and safety of manufactured products, maintaining the stability of all links of the agro-food chain, as well as creating favorable working and living conditions for farmers. The Deputy Minister expressed confidence that the accumulated experience will allow the G20 countries to achieve jointly the set sustainable development goals, in particular, to eliminate hunger.

Russia contributes to this work, not only by increasing and diversifying the supply of agricultural products, but also by participating in the provision of food aid, as well as in the implementation of a wide range of development projects through the UN and other international organizations. An important role, according to the Deputy Minister, is assigned to interaction with FAO within the framework of the Global Soil Partnership and the development of international scientific cooperation on the platform of the Russia-ASEAN Dialogue Partnership.

Following the meeting, the heads of the agricultural departments of G20 adopted a joint declaration on the sustainability of agricultural development.
