Grain harvest in Russia has reached 100 million tons
As of September 16, domestic farmers harvested 100 million tons of grain from an area of 37.8 million hectares.
In particular, 71.1 million tons of wheat, 17.6 million tons of barley and 1.4 million tons of corn for grain were harvested. The production of sunflower, rapeseed and soy amounted to 2.6 million tons, 1.8 million tons and 897 thousand tons, respectively. 6.6 million tons of sugar beet were harvested.
In agricultural enterprises and peasant farm holdings, 2.2 million tons of potatoes were harvested, as well as 1.9 million tons of field vegetables.
Farmers of a number of regions have started sowing winter crops for the harvest of 2022. Currently, the work is carried out on an area of 8.8 million hectares, which is comparable to the pace of last year.
