Hassan Sayeh: the Middle East market will always have to import dairy products
Источник: The DairyNews
According to Hassan Sayeh, CEO of MEAP (Lebanon), the Middle East market will always be an importer of dairy products due to lack of water, arable land and increasing demand. Now this market is largely covered by supplies from a number of countries: New Zealand, Germany, France and the Benelux countries, said the expert in a comment to The DairyNews.
"The MENA market will always import dairy products for a number of reasons: lack of water, lack of arable land, growing demand. The MENA region has natural resources such as oil, solar energy, and they can import dairy products, but the market is already largely covered by supplies from New Zealand, France, Germany, and the Benelux countries. This will force exporting countries to produce more high-quality products at low prices", said Hassan Sayeh.
We remind that Hassan Sayeh, CEO of MEAP Agency, will talk about the dairy market of the Middle East during the XII Dairy Olympics. The Olympics will be held in Dubai, UAE, from April 5 to 9, 2020.
Information about the event is available on the Olympiad website.
