Ice cream manufacture wants to sue brands Chistaya liniya from Unilever
In total, the plaintiff asks to cancel the registration of seven trademarks of the defendant due to their non-use. The court brought Rospatent to the case as a third party. All the disputed brands were registered by Rospatent in 1997-2005 in the name of the Russian cosmetics company "Kalina" (Yekaterinburg), which was later acquired by Unilever. Trademarks apply to a large number of classes of the International classification of goods and services, including classes that include cosmetics and food products.
Chistaya Liniya ice cream factory was established in 2001. Now the assortment of the company includes more than 100 items, including dairy products, fermented dairy products, ice cream, cheeses, cottage cheese and much more, according to the website of the company.
Unilever was founded in 1930 as a result of the merger of the Dutch Margarine Uni and the British Lever Brothers. Among them are Lux, OMO, Signal, Impulse, Sunsilk, Timotei, Denim, Delmy, Dove, Rexona, Axe, Domestos, Knorr, Calve, Rama, Lipton, Brooke Bond and others.
