IFCN: by 2025 world production of milk will amount to 1038 million tons

This was reported by the Director of analysis sector of dairy market of IFCN Lucas Wyrzykowski during the international conference " Exporters of the future in the global dairy market", held in Hanover and organized by the Russian Dairy Research Center, according to The DairyNews.
According to forecasts of IFCN milk production in the world will continue to grow and by the year 2025 it will reach 1, 038 million tons (+25% compared to 2015, or +208 million tons).
The number of milking animals will amount to 405 million heads (+9% compared to 2015), the average milk yield will be 2500 kg per year (+14% compared to 2015), the number of dairy farms will decrease to 103 million (-15% compared to 2015) and the average farm size will be 3.7 heads (+28% compared to 2015).
The consumption of milk, according to calculations of IFCN, is estimated at 127 kg per person per year (+12% to the level of 2015).
"The largest increase in milk production by 2025 will be in India, the EU, Pakistan, the USA and Brazil. Africa will increase milk production by 2025 by 29% that is by14 million tons. The decrease in milk production will be observed in Korea and Japan. New exporters of dairy products will be Colombia, Romania and Uzbekistan," - said Lucas Wyrzykowski, noting that the largest exporters of milk will remain the countries of the European Union, New Zealand, Belarus and Argentina.
New importers according to forecasts of IFCN will be India, Iran, Norway, while the largest importers will become China, Africa and Pakistan.
