Ilya Ragozin: "Mercury" and labeling are only half-measures
- I do not understand what this (the introduction of labeling – editor’s note) should affect. Why does no one care about more pressing issues like food classification, food safety, food quality? All began to be interested in prejudices concerning labeling, "Mercury", etc. and for some reason nobody forbids to use palm oil in dairy products, - he told.
According to Ragozin, there are very simple ways to ensure the quality of products on the shelves.
- There should be regulations that determine the quality of products and how to classify them. It's only half-measures", he said. "We have “Mercury” and labeling. You can fight falsification in other ways - we could create an authority on the basis of the Rossekhoznadzor that would control the quality of products - come and make a seizure, determine whether the palm oil or recovered milk powder or any other controversial component is included in the content, and take action against the manufacturer.
