Import of dairy products in Russia grew by 34.6%

Imports to Russia from the CIS countries in the first quarter increased by 23.2% compared to the same period in 2016, it follows from the preliminary data of the Customs statistics, published on 12 April. During this period there were imported products for 39.9 billion dollars.
In March 2017, the supply from foreign countries increased by 18.3% compared to last year, reports the Federal Customs Service.
Of food products purchase of dairy products increased by34.6%, meat and offal – by 30%, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages – by 30%, cereal crops – by 25.2%, vegetable oil – by 17.5%, fish – by 16.6%, vegetables – by 14.7%, fruit – by 7.4%, whereas imports of sugar fell by 37.3%, tobacco – by 16.6%.
