Import of goods from foreign countries to Russia decreased by 3.5% for 2 months - FCS
In February 2019, the value of imports of goods from foreign countries amounted to $15 billion 546.2 million and compared to January 2019 increased by 13.4%, said in the FCS.
At the same time, imports of chemical products increased by 23.2% and amounted to $3 billion 180.7 million, food products and raw materials for their production - by 12.8% to $1 billion 954.5 million, textiles and footwear - by 8.9% and amounted to $1 billion 123.8 million, engineering products - by 8.7% to $7 billion 114.7 million.
In particular, the purchase of pharmaceutical products increased by 56.2%, soap and synthetic detergents – by 22.9%, while the purchase of perfumery and cosmetic products increased by 10.3%.
In February, compared with January this year, the imports of meat and by - products increased by 42.4%, vegetables - by 39.3%, vegetable oil - by 35.4%, sugar - by 31.4%, alcoholic and non - alcoholic beverages - by 30.6%, tobacco - by 17.3%, cereals - by 14.0%, fish - by 0.3%. At the same time, the import of fruits and nuts decreased by 4.5% and dairy products - by 10.2%.
