In 2015 Russia produced 30.8 million tons of milk

Dairy industry remains one of the most slowly developing sectors of Russian agricultural market, said the head of the Department Vladimir Labinov summing up 2015 results.
According to the Department of Animal Husbandry and Breeding at Russian Ministry of Agriculture, milk production in Russia in 2015 reached 30.8 million tons – equivalent to the level of 2014. Dairy industry remains one of the most slowly developing sectors of Russian agricultural market, said the head of the Department Vladimir Labinov summing up 2015 results.
Milk yield per cow in agricultural enterprises increased by 219 kg or 4.1% compared to 2014 and reached 5.59 thousand kg. In 53 Russian regions total daily milk production exceeded the level of the previous year.
Earlier it was announced that during the period from January to November 2015 agricultural enterprises in Russia produced 13.48 million tons of raw milk, cows population in this type of farms totaled 3358.24 thousand heads – 2% less compared to the same period of 2014.
