In 2017 Crimea spent 2.5 billion rubles to support agriculture

In total, over the past three years 7.5 billion rubles have been allocated for agriculture of the Peninsula, in 2018 the amount of state support will be 3.6 billion rubles. As noted by Yuri Gotsanyuk this year in the Crimea, there will work the program to support family farms, envisaging compensation for the construction of greenhouses from the Treasury of the Republic. Priority areas of development of the industry are dairy farming, horticulture and viticulture.

Due to state funding in recent years the Crimea has doubled the area of vineyards and plantation of fruit trees, fully provided itself with poultry meat. Since 2015, more than 250 farms and farm holdings have been established in the Republic, and in 2017 it was possible to obtain a record grain harvest — 1,733 million tons, which allowed to increase exports by 77% - to 654 thousand tons. By the results of the last year Crimea became the first region of Russia in terms of acreage growth.

At the same time, according to preliminary data of Crimstat, the volume of production of agricultural products last year in comparable prices was only 94.3 percent by 2016 (57.5 billion rubles). The main problem of agriculture in Crimea remains high production costs due to problems with logistics and high prices for energy that is why Crimean goods lose competition to products from other regions of the country. Complaints to the inflated cost of food in Crimea have been repeatedly filed by antitrust authorities.
