In 2020 the TOP 100 companies produced 6.3 million tons of raw milk, 12.9% more than in 2019 – Mikhail Mishchenko

The speaker told the conference participants that the Agency was established in 2014 and has more than 8 thousand enterprises of the dairy industry in its base.

‘We analytically process the volume of information, publish research on our portal, including the DIA index of average prices for dairy products in Russia,’ the expert explained. ‘Yesterday the rating of the top 100 largest milk producers in Russia was released.’

According to the director, in 2020 the volume of raw milk production in Russia amounted to 20.7 million tons, which is 5.4% higher than in 2019. The growth rate of raw milk production in 2020 was higher than the average level of the last seven years.

The share of the TOP 100 largest producing companies in the total volume of milk production in 2020 was 30.3%. This is a great indicator.

‘We summarize all the data by region, including production and processing,’ the expert stressed. ‘The growth rate of production is slightly higher than the growth rate of processing. When recalculating the volumes of raw milk and the volumes of processing, we see the same shortage of raw materials that is being compensated by imports to Russia, especially from Belarus. Moreover, we see a significant increase in the production of dairy products - in 2020, the TOP 100 companies produced 6.3 million tons of raw milk, 12.9% more than in 2019. The import of dairy products in terms of raw milk is 4.8 million tons, the export of dairy products in terms of raw milk amounted to 360 thousand tons.
