- The industry will be able not only to maintain, but also to increase production volumes. A number of megaprojects will be put into operation. The reduction in milk production is likely to begin next year, as it is extremely risky to plan new investment projects in the current financial and economic situation, the expert said.
According to him, in the Chernozem region, in the South of Russia, due to the crisis changes in the global food market, with the weakening of the ruble exchange rate to the main currencies, "competition for land and capital" between commodity crops and forage production will increase.
- It is likely that the owners and financial directors of the largest agricultural holdings will direct the main land and financial resources to the development of commercial crop production, while feed production will be financed on a "residual principle", which will affect the level of productivity and livestock, respectively, and production volumes, - added Vladimir Surovtsev.
