In general, in August compared to July, the consumer price index was 100.0%.
In August, a significant impact on the dynamics of prices for food products had a reduction in the cost of fruit and vegetable products. Thus, potatoes fell by 19.6%, tomatoes - by 15.6%, onions - by 14.9%, grapes - by 14.6%, apples - by 11.9%, cucumbers – by 9.7%, white cabbage – by 9.2%, carrots - by 9.1%. At the same time, there was an increase in prices for oranges – by 14.1%, frozen vegetables – by 0.6%, dried fruits – by 0.4%.
Prices for vegetables and fruits decreased in all regions of the Russian Federation, except for Kamchatka region (an increase of 1.8%). In 34 regions, prices decreased by 9.0% or more, in Kursk region - by 18.4% and in Yaroslavl region – by 13.3%.
Among other observed food products: millet fell in price by 1.5%, chicken eggs - by 1.0%, frozen squid - by 0.7%, frozen fish (except salmon breeds) and sterilized milk – by 0.6%, chicken meat, beef liver, salted herring, buckwheat, infant formula for baby food, marshmallows, pastilles, coffee and cognac – by 0.2%.
A significant increase in consumer prices was noted for sugar - by 2.8%. The increase in price by 3.0% or more was observed in 32 regions of the Russian Federation (except for the Autonomous districts that are part of the region). Most of all, sugar rose in price in the Republic of Crimea and Perm region by 7.4% and 6.6%, respectively. At the same time, sugar fell by 0.1% or more in 7 regions, including by 1.7% in Chukotka Autonomous district.
There was also an increase in prices for pork - by 1.4%, lamb (except boneless meat) - by 1.0%, canned fish in tomato sauce, national cheeses and brynza - by 0.9%, domestic salmon caviar, canned vegetables, olive oil - by 0.8%.
