In Bashkiria there is a tendency to increase the price of milk
- The price of raw milk varies from 18 to 21 rubles without VAT depending on the quality, delivery distance and volume of milk from the supplier. In the region, the price is about the same, there is a tendency to increase: in August, it rose by about a ruble. Thus, in June and July, the price was about 2 rubles lower than it is now, - said Ildar Fayzullin.
The main factor influencing the price change is seasonality. There was most of milk in May, June and July, in August there is a noticeable decline on the farm, because the seasonality in the region is quite large, the expert said. According to the Ministry of agriculture, the average coefficient of seasonality in the Republic is 1.6 – 2. If we look in particular at farms, there are those who do not experience the influence of the seasonality factor, and those who have the corresponding figure of 1.7. Farms with high seasonality are mostly small.
- I asked questions to the heads of enterprises – this is possible if people are not engaged in artificial insemination and livestock issues deeply enough. So the price is related to seasonal growth. I think that in September it will be higher, and the peak will be in October and December. Compared to last year, the price of milk in this period is 2-3 rubles lower. We will not come to the figures of the previous years soon", said Ildar Fayzullin.
He noted that recently the market has been periodically informed that the Ministry of agriculture can resume discussion of the situation around milk powder from Belarus and open the border.
- It is obvious that the Belarusian manufacturers have accumulated enough products and if they enter our market, they will be able to bring it down easily. The cost of Belarusian raw materials is much lower. The domestic producer and the processor will be in competition again and there is no guarantee that they will be the winners in this confrontation, - said the head of the enterprise.
According to Fayzullin, natural disasters will definitely affect the harvest and yield. Last year, in Bashkiria there was harvested about 4 million tons of grain, and this it is expected to harvest 1 million tons less. The share of feed and forage in the cost price of milk is 60-70%, so this process will affect the price, the expert believes.
It should be noted that the Dairy Index RDRC on August 13, 2018 amounted to 22.89 rubles (about 0.30 Euro) / kg (excluding VAT, fat and protein content - 3.6% and 3.0% respectively), which is 0.7% higher than at the beginning of last week and 6.76% lower than the level of August 2017. The key factor of the growth rate was the fall of the ruble exchange rate last week, which led to an increase in the price of import of dairy products.
