In July agricultural production in Russia increased by 0.9% to 503 billion rubles
For seven months agricultural production has increased by 1.9% to 2 trillion 105.5 billion rubles.
Farms of all categories (agricultural enterprises, farmers, private farm holdings) in July increased production of livestock and poultry for slaughter (live weight) by 2.8%, to 1.1 million tons. Milk production remained at the level of July 2017 and amounted to 3.3 million tons, egg production increased by 0.1%, to 4 billion pieces.
In January-July, livestock and poultry production increased by 4%, to 7.9 million tons, milk production - by 1.3%, to 18.8 million tons, eggs - by 1.1%, to 26.6 billion pieces.
At the end of July, the number of cattle on the farms of all agricultural producers was 19.6 million heads (0.3% less than a year earlier), including 8.3 million cows (0.7% less). There was 24.8 million heads of pigs (3.8% more), 26.7 million heads of sheep and goats (1.2% less). In the structure of livestock population at private farm holdings there was 43.3% of cattle, 13.6% of pigs and 46.2% of sheep and goats. At the end of July 2017 these figures were 43.6%, 15.1% and 45.8% respectively.
