In Kazakhstan, labeling of dairy products was recognized as impractical

The decision was made at a meeting on labeling of goods at First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan A.A. Smailov on October 21. A pilot project on labeling dairy products has revealed negative consequences for the industry.
Labeling will entail a change in the production process of dairy products, an increase in financial costs, additional control when moving dairy products. The results of the pilot and the demonstrations held at the enterprises were brought to the Government, based on which it was decided to recognize the introduction of labeling in the domestic market impractical.
The Ministry of Agriculture and the Unified Operator (JSC Kazakhtelecom) were instructed to ensure the labeling of dairy products only exported to the EAEU countries, where mandatory labeling has been introduced.
