JSC Luch will build a mega-farm for 2400 cows in Amur region – Minvostokrazvitiya

‘The regional government is preparing to conclude agreements for the implementation of one of the largest agricultural investment projects worth over 1.8 billion rubles during the Eastern Economic Forum,’ said Governor Vasily Orlov. ‘A new modern livestock complex for 2,400 cattle will be implemented by the company JSC Luch. Its implementation will ensure the production of more than 15 thousand tons of milk per year and more than 80 new jobs.’

‘This will be the largest milk production enterprise in Amur region. The government of the region is taking measures to provide Amur residents with milk and locally produced dairy products. We have developed a number of measures for this purpose. Therefore, we will compensate 50% for the purchase of pedigree cattle, technological equipment, the purchase of equipment for the forage production and for the maintenance of farms. We reimburse 25% of the costs during the construction of livestock enterprises. There is also such a support measure as the sale of land at preferential prices - 25% of the cadastral value (the norm is 2 hectares per head),’ commented the Minister of Agriculture Oleg Turkov.

The mega-farm will be created on the basis of the already existing agricultural enterprise Luch. To date, the construction of the first stage of the future farm has been launched. It is designed for 1570 cows. By the end of the year, it is planned to build a maternity barn, a milking parlour and to purchase a herd.

The implementation period of the investment project is 2021-2022.

Currently, 3400 cattle are kept at Luch, including 1200 milking cows. In 2017, the farm received the status of a breeding reproducer for breeding the red and white breed and annually provides pedigree animals to farms and agricultural enterprises in the region.

In total, there are 11 dairy farms in the region with a total number of cattle 15,124, including 6920 cows. Last year, the livestock breeders of the region managed to produce 3377 tons of milk more than a year earlier. At the same time, the main increase in production was given by four large agricultural enterprises - LLC Priamurye in Tambov district, JSC Luch from Ivanovo district, LLC MiS Agro in Seryshevo district and JSC Dimskoye from Tambov district.
