Karelia will allocate more than 500 million rubles for the design of a robotic farm in Vedlozero
On Friday, the Ministry of economic development of the Russian Federation announced the allocation of the first Federal tranche to the Republics of Altai, Tuva and Karelia for individual development programs formed for regions with lagging economies; in total in 2020, the subjects will receive 1 billion rubles. According to the Federal Ministry, the money received in Karelia is planned to be used for the development of the archaeological complex "Belomorsk petroglyphs" and the construction of a robotic dairy farm.
‘505 million rubles is an investment in future construction work. They are now aimed at increasing the authorized capital of the State farm Vedlozersky, and then will be used purposefully after signing of the construction contract,’ - said the source of the Ministry. He also clarified that this amount will be used for design work, which is planned to be completed in the first half of 2021.
They also intend to start building the farm in 2021: the work will take about 2-2. 5 years, according to the regional Department. The final cost of the agricultural object will be determined with the readiness of the project; however, the Ministry estimates the approximate cost of the farm at 1.5 billion rubles.
Today, the State farm Vedlozersky, located in Pryazha district of Karelia, has 600 milking cows, and the total number of cattle is 980. For seven months, the company produced 1.8 thousand tons of milk, which is 21% more than last year.
In 2019, the authorities of the Republic decided to implement an investment project based on the State farm Vedlozersky to build a modern robotic dairy complex designed for 1.2 thousand milking cows. It is planned to connect a part of the property complex of the farm JSC Pryazhinskoe, where in 2017, due to management actions more than a thousand mink and 15 calves died from hunger, to existing facilities of State farm Vedlozersky. Now the livestock facilities of Pryazhinskoe, the land plots previously used for making forage, and the land plot suitable for the construction of a new livestock complex are in receivership.
‘At the same time, the production facilities of JSC State Farm Vedlozersky will not be closed. It is planned to ensure their repair and repurposing for raising young cattle with the preservation of jobs,’ added in the Ministry of agriculture of Karelia.
As previously reported by TASS, under the individual program for the development of Karelia, it is also planned to allocate 630 million rubles for the development of the tourist infrastructure of the Belomorsk petroglyphs, which together with the Onega rock paintings are nominated for inclusion in the UNESCO world heritage list.
