Kawartha Dairy Factory received the participants of the Motor Rally "Way to milk!"
In 2017 Kawartha Dairy Factory a fully Canadian and one hundred percent family-owned company proudly celebrated its eightieth anniversary.
Located in the favourable region for farms, this dairy factory daily receives fresh milk mainly from local producers and exclusively from farms of the province of Ontario. The plant produces ice cream, milk, butter and cream.
The participants of the Motor Rally "Way to milk!" were shown around along the cold warehouses of the enterprise, the questions were answered by representatives of the Dairy Council of Ontario County, who said that today there are 471 milk processing plants in Canada - 72 of them are located in Ontario. There are also 3,565 farmers in the country.
8.5 billion liters of milk is produced annually in Canada, including in Ontario - 2.9 billion liters.
In addition, representatives of the Canadian dairy industry noted that 16% of jobs in the country are created by the milk processing sector.
