As noted by the first Deputy Minister of agriculture Dzhambulat Khatuov during the Dairy forum in Izhevsk, today the Russian Federation lacks 8 million tons of milk, which is mainly supplied from the Republic of Belarus. "Sister Republic of Belarus should be ready for Russia to return to its own market," the official said.
"A very important issue is the cost price of milk production and marginality. Average price per liter of milk with basic fat content should not be less than 25 rubles. For this to happen, we all have to work", Khatuov said.
In addition, Khatuov noted that the Ministry of agriculture is monitoring the situation with gray schemes of supplies of milk powder to Russia, including through re-export through Belarus.
"We warned traders that their number should be reduced. Short contracts between the manufacturer and the processor will go down in history. Long-term contracts must be concluded. The transformation of the market has come. The Head of the Ministry of agriculture held a series of meetings with representatives of the Republic of Belarus. Now the agreement on achievement of balance of deliveries from Republic of Belarus is signed. Deliveries from Belarus will be carried out by one company", - said Khatuov, stressing that Russia has a need for 340 thousand tons of milk powder, while almost 170 thousand tons is imported from Belarus.
