"Kirov dairy plant" plans to build four farms

"Having the aim to develop dairy cattle breeding, to increase the number of cattle, to increase milk production at its daughter companies JSC "Kirov dairy plant" have planned implementation of major investment projects: construction of four dairy farms with free stall housing with milking parlours, four maternity barns, three young stock barns with cold housing conditions and a preventive treatment barn. There would also be reconstruction, modernization and repair of existing production facilities," said General Director of "Kirov dairy plant" Vasily Suraev toThe DairyNews, answering the question about the company's plans for 2017.

"Next year it is planned to increase the number of cows by 893 heads to the level of 2016 and bring it to 11488 till the end of 2017. Today our own agricultural enterprises supply to the plant more than 200 tons of milk per day. In plans – to increase the amount by 30 tons, and then bring it to 250-300 tons," added Mr. Suraev.

"Kirov dairy plant" took the 8th place in the Rating "TOP-50 Companies-producers of raw milk" made by the Russian Dairy Research Center. In 2015, the company produced 71,9 thousand tons of raw milk. According to Vasily Suraev, in 2016 the volume of produced raw milk will amount to 77.7 thousand tons.
