Lactose free milk got stuck by Rosselkhoznadzor
Notwithstanding the fact that lactose free milk was excluded from the embargo list, its exporters still cannot supply the product to Russia due to changes in Rosselkhoznadzor’s control system. Valio – the biggest lactose free dairy products exporter to Russia – got the first import permit on September, 11th. The next day the permit was suspended and sent for refinement. A new version of import permit is still not available.
According to Aleksey Aleksenko, Rosselkhoznadzor representative, the permits are licensed at the moment “by hand”, because the mechanism of lactose free products entry to Russia is still not created. Experts consider each request individually, that is why Valio still hasn’t got the permit. Meanwhile deficiency of lactose free products in Russia is increasing, as Valio – is the main supplier of this kind of products, and the products imported earlier are nearly finished. Rosselkhoznadzor hopes, the situation is close to be solved, a special group of experts is busy with it at the moment.
