Larisa Abdullaeva: The products with milk fat substitute should be removed from the technical regulations “On safety of milk”
Corresponding changes can be made to the third package of amendments to the Technical Regulations.
"We support this initiative. Earlier, the Technical Committee TC 470/532 MTK sent a letter to "Rosstandart", where they expressed support for the removal of these products. This was originally the position of the Secretariat. Moreover, a year ago we made a proposal to remove all milk-containing products from the regulations and change their names to technical - pasta, cream, mousse, etc.", - said Larisa Abdullayeva, answering a question from the correspondent.
Earlier, the Ministry of agriculture held a meeting on the adoption of the second package of amendments to the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On the safety of milk and dairy products." Discussion of the second draft on amendments to the regulations started in 2018 and will continue in the near future.
The issue of removal of products with milk fat substitutes from the Technical Regulations of the CU "On the safety of milk and dairy products" is acute in the last two years. It should be noted that in the world practice such products are regulated within the control of "food", not dairy products.
Earlier, The DairyNews reported with reference to the expert General Director of Soyuzmoloko Artem Belov that Soyuzmoloko is working on an initiative to remove products with a milk fat substitute from the technical regulations "On the safety of milk".
Discussion on the removal of milk-containing products from the technical regulations has already begun as part of the work on the third package of amendments to the document. Artem Belov predicts that by the end of this year - early next year, these products can be completely removed from the dairy technical regulations.
