“Lateo” by Beskhmelnitsky becomes a co-owner of the group of companies “Galaktika”
The company confirmed the information to the publication, and also stressed that the strategy of the group of companies “Galactika” provides reaching the Federal level through expanding the range and geography of sales. To implement these plans, it was decided to attract a strategic industry investor with the necessary experience and competence.
The agreement with “Lateo” to join the group of companies “Galactika” was the result of negotiations with a number of investors.
"We are confident that this cooperation will increase the competitiveness of “Galactika” group and strengthen its market position", said Igor Du, one of the key owners and founders of the group of companies.
LLC “Lateo” is 100% owned by the Cyprus company Nomopoly Limited, which in turn also owns the Nesvizh baby food factory in Belarus. The CEO of LLC “Lateo” is Sergey Beskhmelnitsky, brother of Andrey Beskhmelnitsky, founder of the Latvian food holding company Food Union and former owner of Unimilk, which is now part of Danone.
According to the Dairy Intelligence Agency (DIA), Galaktika ranks 26th in the rating of milk processing companies in Russia. In 2018, the group processed 128 thousand tons of milk.
Food Union is the largest Latvian producer of dairy products and ice cream. The company's production facilities are located in nine countries, and in Russia it owns "Khladokombinat # 1", located in St. Petersburg. The revenue of the holding, according to its own data, reaches €280 million.
