Lyudmila Manitskaya spoke about the increase in milk prices

According to her, the increase in prices for dairy products is due to several factors: feed packaging, electricity have increased in price, the ruble is devalued.

At the same time, it will not be possible to win back the increase in the cost of production at the expense of retail prices due to the fact that the purchasing power of Russians is limited.

‘However, in our experience, retail chains are very interested in final consumer prices. In the selling prices of chain stores, a huge weight is taken by the margin, which reaches from 50 to 150%. Now the poor average consumer is very sensitive to prices. Therefore, relying on numerous appeals, we applied to the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the government with a proposal to check the prices of dairy products in retail chain stores, the size and validity of trade margins,’ Lyudmila Manitskaya said.

Earlier, the situation in the Karelian dairy market was complicated due to the fact that two of the largest milk producers — the breeding farm Ilyinskoye and the breeding state farm Megrega — did not agree on purchase prices with the two largest milk processors - Olonets Dairy plant and the enterprise Slavmo. Kazimir Tagirov, general director of the breeding state farm Megrega, noted the day before that they had not raised the purchase prices for milk since March and now they are forced to take this step due to rising prices for fuel and compound feed.
