Mayorov: the law on veterinary supervision requires serious study
According to the politician, the study must touch upon issues coordinating the work of the Rosselkhoznadzor and the regional veterinary services, reports The DairyNews.
"As you know, a number of regions have taken a very tough position regarding the transfer of powers of veterinary supervision to the center. They made a demand, saying that if you remove from us the powers of supervision, you will remove all responsibility for the veterinary situation in the field", - said Mayorov.
The politician stressed that during the preparation of amendments to the law, the Commission of the Federation Council tried to take into account the requirements of the regions.
"It was possible to achieve the following: veterinary services as a result of centralization of powers would face reduction of personnel. We have tried to make sure that the staff of veterinary officers in the regions is not reduced", - said Mayorov.
We will remind, Head of the government Dmitry Medvedev has earlier specified that since January 1, 2020 powers of regional veterinary supervision have to be transferred to the Rosselkhoznadzor.
