Medvedev: about 34 billion rubles can be allocated for the climate program of the Russian Federation until 2030

‘The total amount of financing of the program until 2030 from the federal budget may amount to almost 34 billion rubles. One of the most important directions is to create an effective system for monitoring climate change forecasting and to obtain the most complete and reliable data,’ Medvedev said.

‘Such data that allows us to create a multi-color picture of what is happening with the climate on the planet,’ he added.

The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council noted that this is important for the development of economy as a whole, and for ensuring environmental safety.

According to him, the program also identifies areas for mitigating the human impact on the environment, for developing measures to adapt to climate changes in natural systems, the population, and individual sectors of the economy. ‘Not so long ago, we held a meeting on the impact of climate change on the agricultural business, on the agricultural way of life, this is also an important area,’ Medvedev addressed the participants of the meeting. ‘But this applies not only to agriculture. The implementation of the document is also important for the effective provision of Russian interests at the international level.’
